This is an Internship position titled “Intern – Social Media – ACS” within the Animal Care Services Department of Indy Gov.

Salary: The internship pays $15.00 Hourly.

Position Summary:
The Social Media Intern role provides an opportunity to engage with and leverage the dynamic social media landscape. The intern will primarily assist in the day-to-day operations of all social media initiatives that support Animal Care Services and its various activities. The incumbent will operate largely by following established policies and procedures, with extremely limited independent judgment being utilized.

Position Responsibilities:
The intern will undertake a variety of tasks, including:
Assisting in managing and creating content for social media platforms.
Taking photos and videos of animals for promotional purposes and managing photo submissions received from staff and volunteers.
Rotating through different divisions within Animal Care Services, providing assistance where needed or assigned by management.
Engaging with members of the community on social media, always under supervision.
Learning and becoming proficient in various social media systems and assisting in the creation of reports related to social media performance.
Fulfilling tasks assigned by management from various agencies or divisions within Indy Gov.
Gaining practical experience with a wide range of tasks and activities pertinent to the agency or division’s operations.
Receiving shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities from seasoned professionals within the organization.
Accepting designated, business-focused projects where they will research, propose ideas and solutions, and present their final project during the internship.
Responding to and resolving most questions and issues they encounter, referring more complex items to the appropriate senior personnel.
Maintaining confidentiality at all times regarding sensitive information.

Qualifications:
Candidates for this internship must meet the following criteria:
• Possession of a High School diploma.
• Currently majoring in one of the following fields of study: Biology, Business, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Marketing, Procurement, or another related major field of study.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details.
• Possession of the ability to multitask effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
