Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Intern to join our team, working with Georgia HOPE, an affiliate brand of Health Connect America. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in providing essential mental and behavioral health services. As an intern, you will play a vital role in assisting clients and families on their journey to self-improvement and more fulfilling lives, working under the guidance of experienced professionals. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about human services and eager to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide skills-based services directly to clients and families, assisting them in meeting identified therapeutic goals. This includes, but is not limited to, educating on coping skills and providing parenting skills training.
• Work with a diverse client population, including children, adolescents, and/or adults, as assigned by the clinical team.
• Actively link families and clients to appropriate community resources based on their identified needs and treatment plans.
• Collaborate effectively with other Georgia HOPE/HCA staff members and community partners to ensure comprehensive, effective treatment, seamless service provision, and collaborative case management.
• Maintain accurate and timely client records by documenting case notes in our online electronic medical record system (CareLogic).
• Actively participate in regular team meetings to discuss client progress, treatment strategies, and team collaboration.
• Attend agency trainings as needed to enhance skills, knowledge, and adherence to best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services-related field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Development).
• Possess basic computer skills, including familiarity with using the internet and Microsoft Word.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate and utilize an online electronic medical record system (CareLogic, training will be provided).
• Strong ability to work independently, manage a caseload, and efficiently manage time.
• Capability to function as a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and work cooperatively with other agency employees.
• Commitment to conducting oneself professionally and ethically at all times with clients, co-workers, and community partners.
