Job Description: Intern – MBA Marketing – San Diego, CA – Summer 2025
This is a 3-month paid internship opportunity within Philips Image Guided Therapy-Devices, located in San Diego, CA. The internship is designed for first-year MBA students and offers hands-on experience in a health tech environment.
Responsibilities:
• Market Analysis & Strategy: Translate market and customer insights, along with competitive analyses, into effective product lifecycle strategies and specifications that drive short, mid, and long-term business results.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Gather input and align internal teams (R&D, Innovation, manufacturing, marketing, communications, sales) and external stakeholders to develop a winning roadmap and comprehensive implementation plan for new products.
• Product Development: Guide and drive the development of new products from concept to completion, optimizing performance and price for the target market segment.
• Business Planning & Communication: Contribute to business plans and management communications by supporting small product development projects for new features.
• Market Introduction & Sales Support: Participate in trade shows, events, and other market introduction activities. Provide post-market sales and field support, including product promotion, pricing strategies, communications, and training/educational materials.
Qualifications:
• Current MBA candidate.
• Marketing/Sales experience OR a combination of biomedical/engineering with commercial experience (marketing emphasis preferred).
• Proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion, incorporating feedback from key stakeholders.
• 2+ years of previous work experience (internships and/or co-ops; medical device industry experience is a plus).
• Strong understanding of marketing methods, channel strategies, and value proposition creation.
• Business acumen and a passion for understanding customer needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of interventional cardiology or cardiac Cath lab work environment is a plus.

Work Environment: This is an office-based role requiring an in-person presence at least 3 days per week.
Compensation: The hourly pay range is $35.00 to $45.00, plus overtime eligibility. Actual pay will vary based on factors such as experience and skills. Details about benefits are available separately.
