Department Overview – Investment Services

Investment Services is a full-service investment management department within Fremont Bank. The department provides students with an insider’s view of the bank’s operations and exposure to a wide range of career opportunities within the organization. Fremont Bank’s Summer Internship Program is designed to develop future financial leaders, enhance academic learning, and support a strong commitment to fostering equal opportunity throughout the program.

Position Overview

The Investment Services intern will perform a wide variety of administrative support duties for the Wealth Management Operations Manager, Assistant Manager Investment Services, and Vice President. This role involves heavy phone usage, direct customer contact, and other support functions. The intern will handle confidential and sensitive documentation regarding client accounts, interact with bank associates, various personnel for the Broker Dealer insurance companies, and department vendors. Responsibilities include handling questions and paperwork from clients and Financial Advisors, acting as the key person for uploading documents into the Broker Dealer system, and preparing various reports for the Operations Manager and Vice President. The intern will also perform other duties and assignments as needed.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Trust Officers & Financial Advisors on all accounts.
  • Perform client maintenance for accounts.
  • Perform various support duties such as answering phones, copying documents, preparing overnight or express mail forms, etc.
  • Assist with assigned Client Events.
  • Contact and follow up with clients on paperwork and needed documents.
  • Performs routine tasks independently.
  • Assist with necessary expenses and internal reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Word, Outlook, CRM.
  • Background or interest in Accounting, Economics, Investment management.
  • Experience with public speaking.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Progress Review

  • Weekly oversight meetings with the Director of Investment Services.
  • Guidance on case studies and preparation of a presentation based on assigned work.
  • Evaluation of financial planning development skills throughout the internship.

Experience And Knowledge Development

The intern will develop an understanding of how all aspects of a financial plan fit together, including basic investment management and basic trust administration.
