Job Description: Intern I – Magnolia, MS Retail Agronomy Location (Summer 2025)

Our Opportunity
GreenPoint Ag is offering a paid internship for an Intern I position at their Magnolia, MS Retail Agronomy Location for the Summer of 2025. This role is designed for driven and motivated individuals who will collaborate closely with a seasoned mentor. Interns will engage in practical, hands-on projects and daily responsibilities within the field of agronomy, gaining the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to authentic work assignments and acquire essential skills for a successful career.

Essential Functions / Job Duties
The Intern I will be involved in a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Safety Compliance: Adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines, and using appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, protective clothing) especially when working with hazardous materials. This includes the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials such as pesticides, fertilizers, and chemicals, in compliance with safety regulations.
Agricultural Understanding: Developing a well-rounded understanding of the agricultural industry.
Team Collaboration: Working with various local teams to understand and support departments such as warehouse, agronomy, sales, Ag technology, and marketing.
Warehouse Operations: Performing regular warehouse duties, including product storage, staging, and bagging. This also involves safely driving a forklift to transport inbound and outbound products and organizing products according to local procedures.
Customer and Staff Relations: Developing relationships with farmers and staff to learn how to effectively identify and meet their needs, providing excellent customer service and support of GreenPoint Ag, and always representing the company in a professional manner.
Other Duties: Performing all other job-related functions as assigned.

Supervisor Responsibilities
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Ag Engineering, Marketing, or another closely related field of study.
Skills: An aptitude for continuous learning and growth is imperative, along with effective communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Candidates should possess:
Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills, and creativity.
• The ability to work through technology strategies, both retail and customer-focused.
Well-developed interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Being detail-oriented, highly motivated, and a self-starter.
• The ability to work on multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously.
Experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) is preferred.
• A current driver’s license is required, and candidates must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.

Work Environment
The Intern I will work in both indoor and outside work environments. They will frequently be exposed to extreme cold and hot temperatures, wet or humid conditions, and outdoor weather conditions. There may also be exposure to hazardous work conditions associated with agricultural, warehouse, or industrial environments.

Physical Demands
The role requires significant physical activity, including:
• Regularly using hands and fingers to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly being required to stand, talk, and hear.
• The ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Regularly being required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
