About the Company

This internship opportunity is with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a professional basketball team in the NBA. The position is within the ThunderVision department, which is responsible for producing and broadcasting the team’s in-arena entertainment and content.

Job Description

This is a paid internship for students pursuing degrees in broadcasting, video production, marketing, motion graphics, or related fields. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, working with a variety of video production tools and techniques.

Responsibilities include:

Organizing and maintaining digital archives.
Logging camera shots from in-arena shows.
Cutting proof-of-plays from game recordings.
Creating melts from game videographer footage.
Editing pre-designed templates to build high-quality content.
Assisting in assembling backdrops and lighting equipment for video shoots.
Learning accurate camera techniques using various DSLR and broadcast cameras.
Elevating editing skills by learning detailed color correction, strategic shot selection, and pacing.
Shadowing ThunderVision personnel during select home games.
Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Presently enrolled at an accredited college or university and approved by your school to receive internship credit.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

Students pursuing a degree in broadcasting, video production, marketing, motion graphics, or related fields.
Some experience with Sony, Canon, and Panasonic cameras.
Avid, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator experience.
Knowledge of control room equipment such as Ross XPression, Click FX, Evertz DreamCatcher.

Internship Details:

Paid, in-person internship reporting to the Manager, ThunderVision.
Work schedule of 20-29 hours during office hours, with potential for late-night video shoots and Thunder/Blue game night opportunities.
Primary work location is the Thunder corporate office located at the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City.
Physical requirements include lifting and carrying up to approximately 30 pounds and working in-arena, in the presence of loud music and crowd noise and flashing or strobe lighting.
