Job Description: Intern – Energy Analytics

This is a full-time internship position for the Summer of 2026 with the potential for part-time work during the academic year, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time spent in the Milwaukee office. The hourly rate is $22.00, with a pay range maximum of $26.24, and includes paid company holidays.

The Intern – Energy Analytics will work within Power Operations, which is responsible for day-ahead and real-time electric trading operations for WEC’s utility and non-utility projects in wholesale electric markets. The group focuses on optimizing electric load forecasting, generation cost and availability, environmental testing, and load management programs to mitigate risk and promote favorable financial outcomes while reliably serving load.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze Power Purchase Agreements and Renewable Energy Credit transactions for wind and solar projects.
• Analyze and support improvements to energy offer strategies for power generation sales into wholesale electric markets.
• Review cost parameters for electric generators to improve operating cost forecasting.
• Learn about market integration of new battery projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related majors.
Graduation date after June 2026.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.

Preferred Qualifications:

Energy market knowledge.
