Job Description

Job Title: Intern-Clinical Psych

Department: UHC: Psychiatry – 2nd Level Providers

Job Summary: The Intern-Clinical Psych works under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. The primary responsibility is to provide assistance to patients and their families through various forms of support, including counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological evaluations. The role also involves performing other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:
Education: A Master’s Degree in clinical psychology is required.
Experience: No experience is required for this intern position.

Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate must possess a range of abilities, including:
Communication:
• Ability to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality.
• Spanish proficiency is preferred.
• Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
• Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
Technical and Software:
• Ability to use computer and software programs necessary for the position.
• Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
Interpersonal and Professional:
• Be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
• Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
• Ability to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
• Ability to accept direction.
Cognitive and Organizational:
• Think critically.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

• See adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to the position.
• Discern temperature variances through touch.

Licensures and Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
