Job Description
This job is for an Intern-Clinical Psych within the UHC: Psychiatry – 2nd Level Providers Department.
Job Summary:
The Intern-Clinical Psych works under the direct supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Their primary role is to provide assistance to patients and their families through various services. These services include counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological evaluations. The intern is also expected to perform other duties as needed to support the department.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Education: A Master’s Degree in clinical psychology is required.
• Experience: No experience is required for this intern position, making it suitable for recent graduates or those early in their careers.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
The position demands a broad range of abilities, including:
• Communication & Literacy:
• Ability to read and write legibly.
• Ability to speak in English with professional quality (Spanish is preferred but not required).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
• Technical & Equipment:
• Proficiency in using computer and software programs necessary to the position.
• Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
• Interpersonal & Professional:
• Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
• Ability to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
• Ability to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.

• Ability to discern temperature variances through touch.
Licensures and Certifications:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
