Intern, Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) | Jazwares

The Tone:
This is an internship at Jazwares, located in Plantation, FL. Jazwares, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is a global toy manufacturer known for popular brands like Squishmallows™ and Pokémon™. This role supports the IT department’s efforts to ensure the company remains operational during unexpected events by strengthening its Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery capabilities. You will help safeguard essential business functions and gain exposure to how technology, operations, and risk management work together.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $18–$25 hourly
• Team: Infra & Tech Services division of the IT department
• Mission: This person supports efforts to ensure the company can continue operating during unexpected disruptions.
• Tech Stack: Enterprise resilience tools, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) or Resilience software, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Ensure departmental data for the Business Impact Analysis process is accurate and up-to-date.
• Gather: Collect technical and operational requirements from business units to identify critical recovery time objectives (RTOs).
• Administer: Assist in configuring the dedicated Resilience/BCMS tool to streamline reporting and tracking.
• Create: Maintain high-quality documentation for Disaster Recovery plans and resilience workflows.
• Participate: Engage in cross-functional meetings to communicate resilience importance and gather feedback on continuity strategies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a rising senior in high school, undergraduate, or graduate student in an accredited institution, with a genuine interest in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR).
• Experience: Technical proficiency in data organization and an interest in learning enterprise GRC or Resilience software, along with curiosity for how IT infrastructure supports organizational stability.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (especially for interviewing stakeholders), and solid time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
