Intern Audit Winter 2028 | Forvis Mazars US

The Tone:
This is an Audit Intern position at Forvis Mazars, located in Fort Worth, TX, with a winter term running from early January through April 15th. What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Testing: Perform audit testing on financial statement accounts, including cash, accounts payable, and fixed assets.
• Data Analysis: Collaborate with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data.
• Report Drafting: Assist in drafting management letter comments and contributing to the audit report.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related financial field. Candidates must demonstrate satisfactory academic performance in their major-related coursework and maintain a minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.0. This role requires individuals to be actively working toward CPA Exam eligibility, showcasing a foundational understanding of technical accounting principles.
• Experience: Entry-level experience applying core technical accounting knowledge in academic or prior work settings. This role involves direct engagement with client personnel and requires reliable transportation to and from the assigned Fort Worth office, as well as the ability to attend off-site meetings and events in person.
• Skills: Solid oral and written communication skills are essential for client interactions and report drafting. Candidates must possess effective time management abilities, a strong problem-solving attitude, and close attention to detail. The ability to work both independently on tasks and collaboratively within a team is critical for success in this professional environment.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include strong computer skills, particularly proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, to support daily audit tasks and data analysis.
