Summer 2027 Aerospace & Defense Consulting Internship | Fairmont Consulting Group

The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Fairmont Consulting Group, located in Boston and Washington, D.C. Fairmont Consulting Group is a fast-growing management consulting firm specializing in merger and acquisition (M&A) due diligence and strategic advisory services for clients in the aerospace, defense, and government services sectors. Interns become core team members, gaining broad experience in consulting and these specific industries. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support Fairmont engagements across both the strategy and M&A diligence advisory practices.
• Evaluate: Evaluate long-term industry trends and assess the market for a client’s currently-served or adjacent domains.
• Develop: Develop an acquisition screen to advise clients on potential M&A targets.
• Research: Conduct rigorous, data-intensive research on M&A targets’ markets, business potential, and competitive environments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be in the Class of Fall 2027/Spring 2028 seeking an entry-level internship. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, economics, finance, business, or political science is preferred; other areas of study are considered for those demonstrating strong quantitative skills.
• Experience: Demonstrated interest or prior experience in the aerospace, defense, and/or government services sectors, as well as in business analysis, financial analysis, corporate strategy, and/or M&A.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; strong work ethic, attention to detail, critical thinking, flexibility, and a positive attitude. A minimum GPA of 3.5 is required, along with demonstrated quantitative abilities. US citizenship is a requirement for this role.
