Audit Accounting Intern | Mauldin & Jenkins

This is an internship at Mauldin & Jenkins, located in Covington, LA. What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Study and evaluate internal accounting controls.
• Test: Compliance with internal controls when they are deemed reliable and effective.
• Prepare: Financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Examine: Client reconciliations of bank accounts and subsidiary accounts, investigating discrepancies as needed.
• Support: Tax preparation by reviewing data input, identifying, and resolving technical tax issues, and assisting senior staff members.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a college degree with a major or concentration in accounting. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: Currently enrolled in a college degree program with a major or concentration in accounting.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, an established practice of accuracy in dealing with numeric and alphabetic information, and developing proficiency in utilizing available firm resources and computer software.
• Bonus: Willingness for overnight travel as necessary, existing knowledge of the Firm, and the ability to provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
