Internship Program:
Sonoco’s internship program offers a unique opportunity to “test the waters” of the manufacturing and packaging industry. Interns will spend their summer working in a specific division on impactful projects, gaining firsthand experience in Sonoco’s culture and processes.
Key Features:
• Hands-on experience: The program blends practical experience with valuable learning opportunities.
• Career development: Internships can be a stepping stone to the Emerging Leaders Program or other entry-level positions after graduation.
• Location: With approximately 150 locations in 34 states, internships can be located anywhere in the US. Interns must be open to relocation for the summer.
• Duration: Internships last approximately 12 weeks, with start/end dates customizable based on individual needs.
• Compensation & Benefits:
• Paid internships with monthly salary varying based on degree level and year of study (see table below).
• Relocation assistance (U-Haul cargo trailer).
• Housing and activity allowance.
• Sonoco-sponsored activities with other interns and new Emerging Leaders Associates.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree program in Engineering, Sciences, Technology or Business majors.
• Previous internship experience (preferably in Manufacturing or a functional area).
• Proven leadership experience.
• Technical aptitude.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
