Job Description: Economic and Valuation Services Intern

KPMG is currently seeking an Intern to join its Economic and Valuation Services practice. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in transfer pricing and tax principles. As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to contribute to projects for diverse clients, playing a key role in their business success.

Responsibilities:

Transfer Pricing Expertise: Understand how transfer pricing and tax principles and regulations impact businesses. Collaborate with KPMG member firms globally to assist clients in achieving their transfer pricing goals.
Value Chain Analysis: Research and analyze value chains and value drivers across different industries to evaluate transfer pricing options.
Benchmarking: Research and analyze transfer pricing benchmarks to inform strategic decisions.
Deliverables: Assist in preparing various deliverables, including transfer pricing reports, client presentations, and client communication materials.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within KPMG US and member firms internationally to support client projects.
Financial Modeling: Perform financial analyses and develop financial models to assess the impact of intercompany transactions and transfer pricing policies. Leverage technologies such as Excel, artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, PowerBI, and KPMG proprietary tools.
Staying Updated: Stay informed on the latest transfer pricing and tax developments worldwide.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field with a focus on taxation.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Coursework or minor in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Data and Analytics is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access, Power BI), Alteryx, Tableau, artificial intelligence (AI), and other data analysis and visualization tools.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Ability to explain complex topics in clear, concise terms is preferred.
• A flexible and adaptable team player with a resourceful approach to delivering high-quality work.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset and experience with sales or customer service is a plus.
• Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal transportation or public transportation.
• Ability to travel on-site to client premises as needed, often with short notice.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based visa sponsorship.
