Job Description: Economic and Valuation Services Intern
KPMG is seeking an intern to join their Economic and Valuation Services practice. This role will offer the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to high-impact projects for prominent clients.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial information to forecast business conditions and develop financial analytics solutions for strategic and management planning, investment appraisal, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, including integrations and divestitures.
• Data Interpretation: Interpret data on future risk trends, economic influences, and other factors to identify issues and propose strategies related to the procedures executed.
• Financial Data Evaluation: Evaluate current and historical financial data, studying economic and business trends.
• Staying Current: Stay informed about current business and economic developments, employing technology and tools to innovate and enhance the effectiveness of services provided.
• Client Service: Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress, demonstrating in-depth technical capabilities, and professional knowledge.
• Technological Proficiency: Build capabilities in key technologies that enable tax professionals for client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, Power BI, and more.
Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or an equivalent program.
• Upon completion of the internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Experience or coursework in building financial analytics models and tools from scratch in MS Excel, with preferred experience in one or more of the following: VBA, MS Access, SQL Server, artificial intelligence (AI), Data Visualization applications (such as Tableau, Power BI, or Spotfire), and Alteryx.
• Proficiency in developing and explaining fully integrated 3-Statement financial models in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience or coursework working with a formal business modeling and analytics practice within an investment banking, commercial banking, financial planning and analysis, accounting, or consulting firm, or experience working within an in-house corporate development or FP&A team.
• Excellent communication, time management, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player with resourcefulness in delivering high-quality work.
• Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation.
• Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship. KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity.
