Job Description:

This is an intern position designed to provide practical experience and insight into the concrete construction industry. The Intern will be responsible for completing various tasks on the jobsite, working safely and productively, and learning industry practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with team members on projects.
• Carrying out assigned tasks and resolving related issues.
• Gaining practical experience to supplement academic coursework.
• Documenting outcomes and problem resolutions.
• Championing an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) environment by following safety guidelines, wearing PPE, and staying aware of surroundings.
• Participating in toolbox talks and providing input for safety task analysis.
• Complying with proper safety procedures.

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a degree program at a college or university.
• Prior work experience in any field.
• Proficiency in Basic Spanish is a plus.

Essential Competencies:

• Willingness to ask questions to learn and avoid unsafe situations.
• Ability to communicate with all co-workers.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, and ratios).
• Ability to use Microsoft software programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to work with co-workers at all levels in a team environment.
• Ability to deal with problems involving specific variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Haz-mat information.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to navigate the job site.

Travel:

• Up to 25% travel may be required.
