Job Description

Milwaukee Ballet is offering three unpaid, part-time seasonal internships for the Fall 2025 semester:

Marketing & Advancement
Digital Media
School Administration

All positions are unpaid and part-time, requiring an anticipated 10-20 hours per week in-person at Milwaukee Ballet’s downtown offices. Candidates must be undergraduate students eligible to receive academic college credit.

Marketing & Advancement Internship

• Learn and utilize various marketing tools for email content creation and social media scheduling.
• Assist with project management tasks, including website upkeep.
• Brainstorm social media content ideas; potential opportunities to capture photo/video assets.
• Ideate and draft copy for various materials, including promotional emails, donor communication, ticket patron communication, newsletters, social media, press releases, program books, etc.
• Provide copyediting and proofreading support across a variety of documents.
• Maintain accurate records and conduct research into the success of marketing and fundraising campaigns.
• Identify potential advertising opportunities and analyze competitors to inform upcoming marketing campaigns.
• Assist with research regarding potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities relevant to Milwaukee Ballet.
• Provide event support including event logistics, planning, and data organization.
• Assist with database management.
• Assist with the Ballet Boutique, including inventory management, product staging, and upkeep.
• Provide a warm and welcoming environment for all who interact with our organization.
• Provide front-of-house support during performances.

Digital Media Internship

• Assist with creative content related to advertising campaigns.
• Develop and propose creative content concepts (reels, photo/video campaigns, etc.) for social media channels.
• Track and selectively apply social media trends to Milwaukee Ballet content.
• Research and analyze competitors to provide suggestions and generate further ideas for Milwaukee Ballet profiles.
• Photograph and video record content for select social media projects.
• Assist with editing graphics, photo, and video projects.
• Upload, organize, and maintain creative content and digital database.
• Assist with internal communication between all departments to schedule content creation opportunities.
• Other tasks as assigned to optimize creative workflow through project management tasks.

School Administration Internship

• Process and coordinate retail orders for school apparel, merchandise, and program messages.
• Assist with in-person auditions for the Milwaukee Ballet Summer Intensive, student cast productions, and school programs.
• Participate in and help facilitate professional development and staff meetings on school policies, procedures, and initiatives.
• Assist with Summer Intensive coordination, including communication regarding audition results and offers, and facilitate and coordinate housing waivers, reservations, and scheduling.
• Help supervise student cast costume fittings.
• Assist with reports and analysis pertaining to attendance, financial aid, enrollment, and billing.
• Attend Milwaukee Ballet performances (complimentary tickets provided) and be an ambassador for Milwaukee Ballet and MBSA at community and/or school events, performances, and functions.
• Help facilitate and support School showcases, student cast productions, functions, and MBSA Night at the Ballet events.
