Job Description:

This is an internship opportunity at the San Carlos – CED location in California. The program provides a structured, paid introductory course designed to give candidates a working knowledge of the electrical distribution industry. The internship exposes participants to various aspects of the business through a combination of mentoring and on-the-job training. This includes:

• Warehouse operations
• Shipping and receiving
• Counter sales

Interns will also work on special projects designed by the management team to further enhance their understanding of the electrical industry. The intern will report to the Profit Center Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Current, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Detail oriented
• Ability to solve problems
• Must be a self-starter who can handle a heavy volume of work and be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time

Working Conditions:

Conditions vary and include warehouse and external environments. Activities may involve lifting, sorting, standing, and possible exposure to extreme heat/cold conditions.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions:

• Learning all aspects of the CED business
• Communicating – both written and spoken – in English.

Compensation:

The compensation range for this position is $23 to $23 hourly.
