About Kings Dominion

Kings Dominion is a world-class amusement park located in Doswell, Virginia, just 20 miles north of Richmond. The park features over 60 rides, shows, and attractions, including some of the most thrilling roller coasters in the world. Kings Dominion is also home to a water park, Soak City, which offers a variety of water slides, wave pools, and other aquatic attractions.

Job Description

Kings Dominion is seeking enthusiastic and motivated college students to join our Summer Internship Program. This program is designed to provide interns with hands-on experience in the theme park industry, while also developing their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

Interns will have the opportunity to work in a variety of departments, including:

• Food & Beverage
• Retail
• Administration/Audit
• Culinary
• Human Resources
• Retail Visual Merchandising
• Sanitation
• Security

Interns will be assigned to a specific project or task within their department, and will be mentored by experienced Kings Dominion employees. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in weekly business seminars, where they will learn about the different facets of the theme park business.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Must be currently pursuing a college degree or a recent graduate (within 180 days of the start of employment/program at Kings Dominion)
• Commit to working through the 2024 summer operating season (mid-May through mid-August)
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holiday periods to meet business needs
• Ability and comfort with working in both indoor and outdoor environments that may include a variety of weather conditions (rain, heat, snow, wind, etc.)
• Ability to pass a background check which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
