Job Description:
This internship is designed as a learning and developmental ministry experience for collegiate volunteers who are student-athletes. The internship takes place during a summer or semester and focuses on helping the intern discern their calling and career.
Key aspects of the internship:
• Volunteer Basis: Interns are volunteers and are not considered employees. They do not receive hourly compensation or payment for their work.
• Stipend: A nominal stipend may be provided to cover living expenses during the internship.
• Focus on Ministry: The primary goal is to develop the intern’s understanding of their individual calling to ministry through related training and experience.
• Location-Specific Experiences: The internship experience can vary based on the location, so interns should contact the associated FCA staff for more specific information.
Ministerial Duties (Critical to FCA’s Mission):
The internship includes specific ministerial duties that are essential to the FCA’s mission. These duties are expected to be carried out with a heart surrendered to serving God as a form of worship. These include:
• Christian Community Statement: Agreeing with and abiding by FCA’s Christian Community Statement.
• Spiritual Rhythm: Following a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord’s will for FCA.
• Spiritual Leadership: Leading, conducting, and providing spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches, and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship, and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
• Church Involvement: Connecting to and participating in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
• Biblical Standards: Conducting yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA’s Christian beliefs at all times.
