About Company:
Space Kinetic is a venture-backed startup focused on national security priorities in the space domain. They are developing asymmetric capabilities for space superiority and missile defense using their proprietary electromechanical deployment system. This system enables the rapid deployment of low-cost payloads without the need for thrusters. The company is currently assembling its TRL-5 prototype.
Job Description:
Space Kinetic is offering an internship where individuals will gain hands-on learning experience working on meaningful projects within a multidisciplinary team. Interns are provided with the tools, training, and mentorship to excel and discover career advancement opportunities. The internship involves working across the stack and across disciplines with software engineers, physicists, and electrical engineers.
Specific areas interns may work on include:
• Data Acquisition (DAQ) and Controls Applications
• Ground Controls and Telemetry Systems
• Orbital Dynamics and Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulations
• Embedded Systems and Device Integration
• Scientific Computing, Optimization, and Visualization
• Enterprise Services (APIs, Databases, Job Scheduling)
Interns will be tackling challenging, cutting-edge problems where standard resources like Stack Overflow and LLMs may not provide immediate solutions. The position is remote.
