Since 2019, TurnUp has registered and turned out over 500,000 young voters.

Job Description:

This is an unpaid remote internship or volunteer opportunity at TurnUp, designed for young people in the United States who are passionate about civic engagement and activism. As an intern, you will work with a team of like-minded individuals on a variety of progressive/social justice issues, including climate change, racial justice, reproductive rights, ending gun violence, and combating voter suppression in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on teams to participate in grassroots activism and advocacy on civic and social justice issues.
• Conduct research to become better educated and aware about these topics.
Join and help with existing voter registration drives at your school. If there isn’t one, you will be supported in initiating and performing your own registration efforts.
• Collaborate on a variety of tasks and communicate regularly with your team.
• Meet virtually on a weekly basis.
• Participate in civic actions.
• Work on voter turnout projects.
• Perform targeted outreach.
• Engage in advocacy and activism.
• Find and participate in volunteer opportunities together.
• Attend the TurnUp Speaker Series.
• Do civic and activism related research and writing.
• Advocate for issues important to young people, fight voter suppression, and boost youth voter turnout in the United States.
