The Tone:
This is an internship at Ryder, an organization where students can apply their academic knowledge to ongoing company projects. Interns will develop a corporate business sense by understanding how various departments contribute to the overall organization. The role is designed to cultivate crucial problem-solving and public speaking skills through active participation in meetings and projects.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $18.00–$20.00 hourly
• Mission: Apply academic knowledge to current projects, develop business acumen, and enhance essential professional skills within a corporate environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute to ongoing Ryder projects by applying academic knowledge and skills directly.
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of corporate business operations by observing how various departments contribute to the overall organization’s success.
• Develop crucial problem-solving abilities through active participation in project work.
• Enhance public speaking skills and professional demeanor by attending and contributing to business meetings.
• Perform diverse additional duties as assigned, supporting departmental needs and learning objectives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively enrolled toward a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required, but a preference for demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction across all levels of the organization and with customers.
• Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Intermediate proficiency with PC software, including Windows, MS Office Suite, MS Project, and MS Excel.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with peers, work groups, customers, and supervisors.
• Personal initiative and the confidence to quickly learn new systems and processes while establishing strong customer rapport.
• Bonus: Experience showing leadership capabilities.
