• Team: Reports to project managers or field supervision staff, collaborating with estimating and preconstruction teams.
• Mission: To provide comprehensive, hands-on experience in construction project engineering and field management, preparing interns for future leadership roles within the company.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Coordination: Assist project managers or field supervision staff with comprehensive project coordination.
• Budget Management: Estimate costs for change orders, contributing to effective budget management.
• Subcontractor & Document Control: Solicit bidders, coordinate subcontractor activities, and manage essential document control for project flow.
• Timeline Optimization: Schedule various contracts and materials to optimize overall project timelines.
• Project Documentation & Safety: Participate in safety management initiatives, actively contribute to team meetings, and prepare critical project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Seeking a bachelor’s degree is preferred, indicating an early career stage focused on entering the construction industry.
• Experience: The ability to commit to a 12-week work schedule is preferred. Specific roles within the program may require relocation.
• Skills: Project coordination, cost estimation, subcontractor management, scheduling, document control, safety awareness, and effective participation in team discussions.
