Position Summary: Intern

The Intern will actively participate in new product development activities, encompassing literature review, recipe development, trial planning and execution, data analysis, and report writing. This position will provide crucial support to one or more active innovation and renovation projects, focusing on the development of nutritional and wellness products available in various formats, including gummies, chewables, and powders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive literature searches using both internal and external databases.
• Develop a deep understanding of ingredient interactions and their effectiveness at various usage levels.
Plan and execute trials at lab/bench scale and/or pilot plant scale, which may include the design of experiments (DOE).
Collaborate with analytical lab and sensory teams to assess the impact of ingredients on the final product quality and attributes.
Analyze data derived from lab and pilot trials and formulate clear conclusions from the experimental findings.
Present findings and recommendations effectively through professional presentations and detailed project reports.

Skills

• Possess a strong knowledge of food science principles and be comfortable with lab/bench scale experiments and prototype creation.
• A self-starter who is results-oriented, analytical, innovative, intellectually curious, and proactive in taking initiative.
• Ability to learn quickly, embrace change, and thrive within a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and excels in collaborative teamwork.
• Comfortable with basic data analysis using tools like Excel (e.g., creating tables, charts) for presenting conclusions.

Areas of Study/Majors

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields.

Additional Requirements

• This is an onsite internship at NPTC Bridgewater.
• The internship is scheduled to begin on May 26th, 2026.
• This position is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship.
