Job Title: Intern
Job Summary – HVAC Service Intern:
As an HVAC Service Intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vital heating and cooling systems for our customers. This hands-on position involves performing detailed inspections and cleaning of both gas heating equipment (including decorative units) and electric air conditioning systems. You will ensure all operations meet safety standards, efficiency requirements, and code compliance. Additionally, you will perform ductwork inspections, cleaning, and decontamination of HVAC systems, all while providing superior customer service and upholding CenterPoint Energy’s commitment to excellence. This role is an integral part of our mission to keep communities comfortable and safe, making you an essential contributor to the reliability of our services.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate and maintain a company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
- Tool & Equipment Management: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained for safe and efficient service delivery.
- Accurate Record Keeping: Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping functions to maintain precise and up-to-date information.
- Customer Satisfaction: Proactively resolve customer complaints and inquiries, striving for superior customer satisfaction.
- Service Promotion: Promote and accept accountability for providing exceptional customer satisfaction, including selling Home Service Plus products and services (e.g., Service Plus Repair Plans, Options, Product sales referrals).
- Professional Relationships: Maintain professional working relationships with both internal team members and external customers.
Qualifications:
- Education: Requires successful completion of a 1-year program (minimum 2 semesters or 3 quarters) from an accredited educational institution in heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning.
- Experience: No prior work experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those seeking entry into the field.

- Compensation Rate: $28.18 Hourly. This hourly compensation is specific to Minnesota and the pay rate negotiated in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
