Job Description:

CFP internships are paid, part-time positions (16-40+ hours/week) lasting from one week to five or more weeks, depending on the project. The internship program is structured for academic credit and includes careful monitoring and evaluation. A structured learning agenda ensures intentional learning, incorporating learning objectives, observation, reflection, evaluation, and assessment. CFP strives to balance the intern’s learning goals with the assigned work responsibilities. The overarching goal is to foster academic, career, and personal development.

Intern Duties and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate current manufacturing operations.
• Suggest improvements to operations, materials, and methods.
• Create standard work for operations.
• Plan and present project outcomes to the leadership team.

Intern Learning Outcomes/Accomplishments:

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate understanding of the “Columbia Way” and the 8-Step Problem-Solving method.
• Provide examples of operations standard work.
• Apply operations principles to real-world organizational goals.
