Overview of the Role:
As an intern, you will engage in tasks similar to those assigned to entry-level associates. This involves working directly on client engagements, which will expose you to various industries and allow you to apply and test your technical accounting knowledge. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experienced senior staff and management personnel, contributing to your skill development.
Internship Structure and Schedule:
• Specializations: Internships are available in assurance (audit), tax, or a combination of both disciplines, depending on the specific needs of the local office.
• Work Arrangement: Positions can be either part-time or full-time.
• Typical Durations:
• Winter Semester: Generally runs from early-January through April 15th.
• Summer: Typically runs from early-June through mid-August.
Key Responsibilities (How You Will Contribute):
• Client Collaboration: Work closely with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare various types of tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and other specialized returns.
• Payment Calculations: Calculate tax extension or estimate payments.
• Meeting Participation: Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers, gaining insights into client relations and strategic discussions.
Required Skills and Qualifications (Who We Are Looking For):
