Forvis Mazars is a public accounting firm offering services in audit (assurance) and tax. As an intern with the company, you will be integrated into their client engagements, working alongside senior staff and management personnel. The firm aims to provide valuable experience to help interns decide on their career path within public accounting, specifically in audit or tax. Job Description: Intern
This internship offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in public accounting, helping you decide if a career in audit or tax is suitable for you. You will work on client engagements similar to those assigned to entry-level associates, gaining exposure to a variety of industries and testing your technical accounting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities (“How You Will Contribute”):
• Collaborate with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data.
• Prepare various tax returns, including individual, corporate, and partnership returns.
• Calculate tax extension or estimate payments.
• Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers.
Internship Details & Logistics:
• Internships are available in assurance (audit), tax, or a combination of both.
• Positions can be part-time or full-time, depending on local office needs.
• Winter semester internships typically run from early-January through April 15th.
• Summer internships typically run from early-June through mid-August.
Desired Skills and Qualities (“We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:”):
• Solid technical accounting knowledge.
• Effective time management skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills preferred, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work well with a team as well as independently.
• Possession of a problem-solving attitude.
• Willingness to take initiative.
• Close attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines.
Eligibility and Requirements:
• Candidates must be actively working toward an accounting degree.
• Candidates must be working toward CPA licensure eligibility.
• Reliable transportation to and from your assigned office is required.
• Ability to attend off-site meetings and events in person.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
