Job Summary:
The Insurance Analyst Intern role supports the PMC team in St. Paul, MN, and Valmark’s clients. The internship focuses on data management, communication with product companies, and operations management. This paid internship offers free parking in a heated garage, a flexible schedule to accommodate school, and networking opportunities in insurance, technology, marketing, underwriting, and investments. It provides experience in a growing business unit and helps interns discover their passions in the financial services industry.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Data Management:
• Gather information from various sources, including product companies, Valmark’s clients, internal sources, and technology data feeds.
• Set up insurance policies in the policy management system, input data, archive documents, and manage policy information.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of new and existing data in the systems.
Communication with Insurance Companies:
• Obtain supporting information for reviewing and analyzing active life insurance policies.
• Request current and updated policy information from insurance companies, including policy status, quotes, forms, and transaction history.
• Facilitate the completion of service requests from Valmark’s clients.
Operations Management:
• Streamline business operations, tasks, activities, workflows, and processes.
• Leverage technology tools to manage data and policy information.
• Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and policy management services.
