The Mohawk Internship Experience
Our program is designed to provide interns with a dynamic and enriching experience. Each intern is presented a real business challenge within their group that provides the opportunity to exchange ideas with subject matter experts for optimal learning and development that leads to real solutions. At the end of the internship, our interns get together to showcase their awesome accomplishments during an event we call the “Intern Expo”.
Beyond your project, our University Relations team hosts exclusive events such as: featured executive lunch & learns, plant tours, personal & professional development sessions, and intern socials, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging summer.
Your Role as an Instructional Design Intern
As an Instructional Design Intern, you will work closely with our Learning & Development team to support ongoing projects and initiatives related to training and development. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate learning within the manufacturing industry, apply instructional design principles, and develop skills that will be valuable for your career.
You will contribute to the creation and enhancement of engaging learning experiences, helping to ensure our team members have the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. During the first week of the internship, your team will lay out exact project details and objectives.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eager to learn and adapt to new challenges.
- A strong interest in learning methodologies, training development, and adult education.
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) is a plus.
- Experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate) or Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus.
