General Description:

This Information Technology Intern position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of IT Support within the hospitality industry. You will work closely with leaders at the University of Houston’s hospitality group, developing essential skills and competencies for success in this field. The internship provides exposure to various aspects of hospitality operations, including marketing, administration, guest services, problem resolution, innovation implementation, and client relationship management.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

Operational Standards: Executing and upholding operational standards.
Financials: Working with financials, P&L (Profit and Loss) statements, and loss prevention strategies.
Safety and Quality Assurance: Maintaining a safe environment and ensuring food safety practices.
Guest Experience: Contributing to an exceptional guest experience.
Client Relations: Building and maintaining strong client relationships, including handling contractual commitments.
Associate Development: Participating in associate learning and development initiatives.
Operational Support: Providing operational support for various serving platforms.
Multi-Setting Experience: Working in diverse settings like Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH), Catering, Marketing, and Administration.
People Management: Assisting with schedule management and time management.
Inventory Management: Participating in inventory control processes.
Help Desk Support: Managing Help Desk tickets and resolving various IT-related issues.
Report Development: Creating and developing reports.

Requirements:

Relationship Building: Enjoyment of building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
General Interest and Knowledge: Possessing general knowledge and an interest in relevant areas such as customer service, technology troubleshooting, data analysis, procedure development, and quality assurance.
