Job Description: Information System Security Officer (Level 1)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

What you will do:

As a Classified Cybersecurity ISSO, you will play a crucial role in securing lifesaving products and critical state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing systems by applying cutting-edge cybersecurity principles. You will contribute to building a more secure world for the warfighter, space exploration, climate sustainability, and commercial use.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting day-to-day information system security operations: This involves tasks like hardware and software implementations.
Carrying out technical administration of IS: You will ensure compliance with internal Lockheed Martin and customer security requirements, primarily following the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Monitoring and responding to network and security events: You will be responsible for upkeep, analysis, and response to incidents.
Documenting compliance actions: You will utilize approved automated compliance tracking systems or develop a plan of actions and milestones (POA&M) to address non-compliance within designated timeframes.
Ensuring system integrity: You will ensure that systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with internal security policies and practices outlined in the security plan.
Auditing: A significant part of your role will involve auditing for compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree: Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.
DoD 8570 IAT (Information Assurance Technical) Level 2 Certification: SEC+ or equivalent. (Must be achieved within 6 months of hire if not currently held.)
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal relations, and analytical skills.
Operating System Security Requirements: Knowledge of operating system security requirements.
Network Security: Knowledge of network security, including encryption, firewalls, authentication, and perimeter protection.
US Citizenship: Required for government security clearance.
Special Access: This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

– Knowledge of industry-standard Information Assurance tools.
– Knowledge of network design processes, including understanding of security objectives, operational objectives, and trade-offs.
– Detail-oriented, well organized, and able to multi-task in a high-stress environment.

Security Clearance: This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration.
