Role Overview:
As an Industry Process Consultant Intern, you will play a crucial role within the NAM Industry Process Consultant team, collaborating closely with lead engineers. This position offers a unique opportunity to model complex, real-world fluid problems across diverse industries, encompassing critical areas such as engine cooling, external aerodynamics, splash and spray phenomena, and air-intake systems. You will gain invaluable, hands-on experience with cutting-edge commercial CFD pre & post-processing software, directly contributing to projects through in-depth analysis, advanced visualization, and clear communication of CFD simulation results. Furthermore, you will have the chance to conduct focused research on specific client challenges and present your findings to the broader Industry Process Consultant team, fostering both your technical and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead engineers in modeling real-world fluids problems across multiple industries, including but not limited to engine cooling, external aerodynamics, splash and spray, and air-intake systems.
- Gain extensive practical experience with industry-leading commercial CFD pre & post-processing software.
- Develop innovative new design concepts/parts informed by thorough analysis of simulation results.
- Generate advanced visualizations of client results to effectively communicate complex data.
- Conduct focused research on specific client problems and prepare compelling presentations for the Industry Process Consultant team.
Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in a Master of Science or Doctoral program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, with a strong emphasis on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Demonstrated course or lab experience utilizing CAE Tools.
- Possess a strong interest and solid foundational knowledge of fluid dynamic fundamentals.
- Proficiency in script programming (Python) and hands-on experience with complex graphics tools.
- A strong desire for continuous learning and professional development.
- Excellent English written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the proven ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Salary Pay Transparency:
Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range is between $22 and $40 per hour.
