Job Description
About the Role:
This is a well-established 11-week summer internship program designed for students to contribute to meaningful projects. The program emphasizes a strong culture of mentorship, training, and collaboration, encouraging interns to actively ask questions, challenge existing ideas, and think creatively. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experience within a thriving industry, with significant opportunities for personal and professional growth and development.
Position Responsibilities:
The intern will be expected to perform a range of engineering tasks, including:
• Working closely with other engineering disciplines to develop and apply robotics to enhance production quality, efficiency, or volume.
• Analyzing statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives for finished products.
• Planning and establishing sequences of operations for fabricating and assembling product parts, aiming for efficient resource utilization.
• Coordinating quality control objectives and activities to resolve production issues, maximize product reliability, and minimize costs.
• Applying statistical methods and performing mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
• Performing and implementing classical Industrial Engineering (IE) work, such as line and work element balancing, time studies, labor efficiency and workflow improvements, and plant floor layouts (updates and improvements).
• Maintaining plant floor layouts, including updates and improvements.
• Creating operator method sheets to ensure production rates and quality, and maintaining these sheets as product or equipment specifications change.
• Developing manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
• Performing capacity planning and providing solutions for cost reduction through process upgrades.
Job Requirements:
• Field(s) of Study: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Safety.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or greater.
• Sponsorship: Must not require sponsorship now or in the future.
• Graduation Dates: December 2026 – May 2028.
