About the Job
The Industrial Engineering Intern at UPS is responsible for working on targeted projects individually or in small teams. These projects may include work measurement in Master Standard Data (MSD), cost benefit analysis, process improvement analysis, and operational planning. The intern will be required to have knowledge of Industrial Engineering and/or a related discipline, as well as effective statistical analysis, research, and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated to getting results. They will also be able to work collaboratively and independently, and have the ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Work measurement in Master Standard Data (MSD)
• Cost benefit analysis
• Process improvement analysis
• Operational planning
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
• Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and/or a related discipline
• Effective statistical analysis skills
• Effective research and communication skills
• Enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to getting results
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
Basic Qualifications
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer
• Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions
• Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the internship or willing to relocate yourself
• Current student enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or recent graduate from a degreed college/university program within the past 24 months
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week
