Job Description: Industrial Engineering Intern at FHP Manufacturing
As an Industrial Engineering Intern at FHP Manufacturing, you will contribute to enhancing the efficiency and productivity of manufacturing, logistics, and operational processes. Your responsibilities will include:
• Supporting manufacturing improvements: This involves assisting in the design and optimization of manufacturing floor layouts, a key aspect of improving workflow and space utilization.
• Conducting time studies: You will be involved in analyzing workflow to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement in efficiency. This is a crucial component of lean manufacturing.
• Applying lean manufacturing principles: You will work to implement lean manufacturing methodologies to reduce waste and improve overall process efficiency.
• Collaboration: You will work closely with various teams throughout the organization, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Utilizing analytical skills: The role necessitates strong analytical abilities to assess data from time studies and other sources to inform decisions about process improvements. You will be expected to present findings clearly and concisely.
• Utilizing technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, including Value Stream Mapping) is essential.
• Understanding industrial engineering fundamentals: A solid grasp of time studies, ergonomics, and general industrial/manufacturing principles is required.
The internship is a minimum of six months and may extend up to one year. It’s an on-site position located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
