Description: Industrial Engineering Intern

Internship Summary:

UPS is looking for individuals who are problem solvers, innovative thinkers, and dedicated to getting results. As an Industrial Engineering Intern, you will work on targeted projects individually or in small teams. You will gain valuable experience in operational observations, data collection, cross-functional communication, and problem-solving. Upon completion, you will present your work to the Industrial Engineering staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Work measurement in Master Standard Data (MSD): Analyze and optimize work processes to improve efficiency.
Cost benefit analysis: Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of proposed solutions and projects.
Process improvement analysis: Identify areas for improvement within operational processes and develop solutions.
Operational planning: Contribute to the planning and execution of operational procedures.

Currently pursuings and Skills:

Knowledge of Industrial Engineering and/or Engineering related discipline: Strong academic background in engineering principles.
Effective statistical analysis skills: Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw conclusions.
Effective research and communication skills: Ability to gather information, conduct research, and communicate findings effectively.
Enthusiasm, idealism, creativity and dedication to getting results: Passionate and motivated individual with a drive to succeed.
Ability to work collaboratively and independently: Can work effectively within a team environment and manage individual tasks.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues from different departments.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills: Clear and concise communication abilities in written and verbal formats.

Basic Currently pursuings:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
• Employer will not sponsor a visa for this or future positions.
• Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the internship or willing to relocate yourself.
• Current student enrolled in a degreed college/university program, or recent graduate from a degreed college/university program within the past 24 months.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range Estimate: $15.40 – $32.14 per hour (actual compensation may vary based on location and education)
401(k) retirement program (eligible at 90 days of employment)
