• Team: Reports to the Office Administrator, providing support to attorneys in the Immigration Department.
• Mission: This person will provide organizational and practice-specific support to attorneys, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of various immigration petitions and applications.
• Tech Stack: Windows-based software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), INSZoom
What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Draft and finalize petitions and applications for various immigration matters, including PERM, I-140, AOS, Naturalization, H-1B, L, E-1/2, TN, O-1, J, and EB-5.
• Respond: Create responses to complex requests for evidence from government agencies.
• Manage: Oversee individual caseloads to ensure all work is completed accurately and on time.
• Research: Monitor and keep track of current immigration law updates, procedures, and relevant legal research.
• Liaise: Contact USCIS, U.S. consulate/embassies, and government agencies like DOL and NVC to troubleshoot issues and schedule visa appointments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal certification or equivalent experience is required, with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the Immigration practice area.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of business immigration experience within a law firm, including specific experience in preparing immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions.
• Skills: Excellent writing skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, high attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and effective professional communication (oral and written).
