Job Description: Imagine Internship Program (HR Focus)
This six-week summer internship program (June 16, 2025 – August 1, 2025) immerses rising seniors in Cornerstone Research’s world. The program aims to foster professional growth through mentorship and skill-building, focusing on adaptability, cultural understanding, and resilience. Prior deep familiarity with HR functions isn’t required.
Key Responsibilities:
The internship includes a mix of shadowing, project execution, and administrative support within the HR department. Specific tasks include:
• HR Project Work: Shadowing and assisting with key HR projects, gaining understanding of the full employee lifecycle (recruitment, onboarding, performance management, departures, etc.). This includes learning about:
• Organizational structure and HR’s role in a consulting firm.
• The recruitment process and benchmarking for new positions.
• The firm’s learning platform and processes.
• Diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Immigration processes.
• New hire processes and I-9 verification.
• Voluntary departure documentation.
• Performance management review processes and core competencies.
• An HRIS legacy data project (partnering with the HR Operations Manager).
• New hire benefits orientation shadowing.
• Administrative Support: Providing a wide range of administrative support, such as:
• Annual filing compliance.
• Database maintenance.
• Report contribution.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Understanding how HR interacts with other departments (Facilities & Administration, Finance, IT, Talent).
• Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Entering senior year of an undergraduate degree, graduating December 2025 – June 2026.
• Demonstrated interest in HR through coursework, club participation, internships, volunteer work, etc.
• Excellent academic performance and leadership experience.
• Willingness to participate in the full six-week program.
• Must live within commuting distance of the Cornerstone Research office location.
Compensation:
$20.00/hour for 40 hours/week for six weeks (bi-weekly pay). A post-internship return offer isn’t guaranteed.
