Job Type: Intern

Job Summary:
As an HVAC Intern, you will be responsible for performing inspections and cleaning of gas heating equipment, including decorative gas heating equipment, and electric air conditioning equipment. The primary goal is to ensure safe, efficient operation and compliance with relevant codes, all while delivering superior customer service. Additionally, you will perform ductwork inspection, cleaning, and decontamination of HVAC systems to maintain their safe and efficient operation.

Essential Functions:

  • Operates and maintains company vehicles safely.
  • Maintains the condition of tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Completes necessary record-keeping functions to ensure accurate information is maintained.
  • Resolves customer complaints and inquiries to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes and accepts accountability for providing superior customer satisfaction and actively participates in the selling of Home Service Plus products and services (e.g., Service Plus Repair Plans, Options, Product sales referrals) to customers.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with both internal and external customers.

Education Description:
Requires successful completion of a 1-year program (minimum 2 semesters or 3 quarters) in an accredited educational institution focusing on heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning.

Experience:
Requires no prior work experience.

Compensation Rate:
$28.18 Hourly (This hourly compensation is specific to Minnesota and the pay rate negotiated in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the starting fixed pay rate at the time of posting for the opportunity.)
