Job Description: HVAC Field Technician Intern
As a HVAC Field Technician Intern, you will primarily be assisting HVAC Field Technicians in the installation and repair of environmental control systems. This involves using knowledge of refrigeration theory, control systems, pipe fitting, and structural layouts. Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective communication (oral, written, phone, computer, face-to-face).
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests. This includes replacement and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers.
• Assist in and learn end-to-end testing, startup, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects.
• Represent the company by learning to serve as the direct customer contact, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, examining, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Coordinate with supervising field technicians/project managers and customers to understand requirements for on-site installations and repairs, forecasting issues, gathering materials, and synchronizing on-site work.
• Use software and technology, along with hand tools, and following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
• Enforce safety to the highest standards and maintain security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets.
• Maintain flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
