Job Description, Detailed

This is a temporary, hourly internship position titled “Humanitarian Logistics Internship,” designed for students with a background in Supply Chain Management.

Position Details:
Employment Category: Temporary Hourly.
Work Hours: Maximum 40 hours per week (0-40 hours).
Overtime Eligible: Yes.
Position Location: Fort Collins, CO, with the potential for hybrid or remote work.
Salary Range: $24-$25 per hour.
Duration: The internship will be short, only 2-3 weeks long, and likely involve the completion of a single project.
Purpose: It’s designed as a preparatory bridge for larger work in future CSU courses: MGT 377 (Advanced Logistics; Spring 2025) and MGT 486B (Practicum in Supply Chain Management; Fall 2025).

Key Responsibilities and Duties (100% of time allocation):
The intern will play a crucial role, often with a minor leadership component:
Lead Intern Role: Help orchestrate communication between the other three supply chain management interns working on projects for UNICEF.
Logistics Coordination: Assist in coordinating the procurement, transportation, and delivery of humanitarian supplies.
Research: Conduct research on international logistics import/export processes specifically for humanitarian goods.
Inventory Management: Support inventory management and tracking of goods in warehouses and field locations.
Data Management: Help maintain logistics databases and filing systems (e.g., for procurement records, shipping documents).
Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor and report on the status of shipments and deliveries.
Planning: Participate in needs assessments and logistical planning for relief operations.
Liaison: Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and field staff to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
Documentation: Assist in preparing documentation for customs clearance and import/export processes.
SOPs: Support the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Meetings: Attend coordination meetings and take meeting minutes as needed.
Compliance: Help ensure compliance with organizational and donor policies.
Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, document formatting, and slide engineering (PowerPoint).

Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA/Concentration in Supply Chain Management.

• Ability to engineer PPT (PowerPoint) slides.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
