About the Role
The Human Resources Intern will support the HR Department in daily operations while learning the unique functions of Human Resources within the hospitality industry. This role involves performing a variety of responsible and complex technical and administrative duties relating to personnel function and programs under general supervision.
What You’ll Do
• Assist with recruitment efforts for hotel, restaurant, winery, spa, and guest service positions
• Coordinate interviews, candidate communication, and onboarding processes
• Support new hire orientation and employee training programs
• Learn hospitality scheduling, staffing, and labor management practices
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and resort events
• Maintain employee records and personnel files with accuracy and confidentiality
• Provide professional customer service to employees and managers regarding HR-related questions
• Assist with payroll preparation, timekeeping reviews, and HR reporting
• Support benefits enrollment communication and employee documentation
• Learn hospitality compliance standards related to wage and hour practices, workplace policies, and employee relations
• Assist with preparation of job postings, recruitment advertisements, and hiring events
• Gain exposure to resort operations including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, and Winery departments
• Participate in leadership meetings and operational discussions to better understand hospitality management
• Complete special projects designed to improve employee experience and operational efficiency
• Follow all Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa handbook policies and procedures
• Maintain strict confidentiality of resort operations and records
• Demonstrate professionalism and a guest-first attitude at all times
• Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned by leadership
You’re a Good Fit If You
• Intend to or are currently enrolled in a degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field
• Are a high school junior/senior, college student, or recent graduate
• Possess strong communication and organizational skills
• Have a professional demeanor with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Are able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
• Are available to work onsite during the internship program
• Can coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
• Can collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information
• Can understand and respond to a diverse population
Bonus Qualifications
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills preferred
