Job Description: Human Resources Internship

This is an 8-week summer internship program (June 2025 start) within Macy’s Corporate Human Resources department in New York, NY. The internship provides hands-on experience across various HR functions.

What You Will Do:

Professional Development: Participate in structured learning experiences to enhance HR skills.
Mentorship: Build relationships with fellow interns and Macy’s employees through formal and informal mentorship programs.
Strategic Contribution: Contribute to organizational strategies, including:
• Succession planning
• Talent management
• Executive recruitment
• Performance coaching
• Employee engagement
• Total rewards (compensation and benefits)
• Leadership development
Project Support: Assist in major projects impacting business strategies across the organization.
Company-Wide Initiatives: Support initiatives focused on talent acquisition, employee engagement, and talent development.
Teamwork: Collaborate in performance-driven teams to foster teamwork and individual growth.
Attendance: Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Inclusive Environment: Foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Additional Duties: Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to effectively interact with colleagues, leaders, and stakeholders.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities: Capacity to assess challenges, think critically, and develop solutions within a dynamic HR environment.

Organizational & Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, support key HR initiatives, and contribute to organizational strategies with minimal supervision.
Adaptability & Learning Agility: Willingness to learn, adapt to new challenges, and apply knowledge to real-world HR scenarios.

Qualifications:

• Rising juniors enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program (one year remaining).
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• All majors are considered.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Physical requirements include sitting, talking, hearing, using hands/fingers, occasional moving about the workplace and reaching. Requires close vision.
