Job Title: Human Resources Intern
Responsibilities:
The Human Resources Intern will provide comprehensive support to the HR Management Team, engaging in a wide range of projects related to HR programs. This includes:
- HR Project Management: Support HR harmonization project planning, organization, execution, and communication. Work directly with key personnel to understand project concepts, objectives, and approaches. Support the elaboration and implementation of concepts and scheduling meetings.
- HR Administration & Operations: Provide support in functional areas of Human Resources, including coordination of tasks and operations under supervision, with a focus on optimizing current practices.
- Data Entry & Audits: Assist in data entry and maintenance in HR systems (HRIS/HRIT). Support HR team with audits, reconciliations, and compliance-related tasks.
- Reporting & Research: Assist in the collection of internal and external information for reports and statistical research, with a key element being the onboarding process and setup. Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Employee Support: Handle client requests, deliver quality solutions, or escalate requests to senior team members. Respond to and navigate employee HR-related questions and requests.
- System Implementation & Upgrades: Involvement in Payroll System Implementation and HRIS System Upgrades & Enhancements. Assist with testing, updates, or documentation related to HR systems.
- Benefits & Leave Management: Assist with the administration of employee benefits, leaves, time, and payroll. Support benefits plan harmonization and benefits open enrollment. Assist with processing employee leave requests and tracking balances. Help review time entries and support payroll preparation and audits. Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications.
- Confidentiality & Documentation: Perform administrative duties in support of maintaining records, requiring the utmost confidentiality. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation. Proofread documents to support team members.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in regularly scheduled team meetings.
- General Administrative Support: Perform general administrative support for the HR team as needed.
- Will perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proactivity and ability to work independently.
- Proficient working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Desire for continuous development and learning opportunities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of Human Resources functions and processes.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Customer-service mindset when supporting employees.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced HR setting.
Education:
- Recent graduate (within the past 12 months) or a junior/senior currently attaining a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a focus either on Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Communication, or comparable study.
Preferred Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration or HR Management.
- A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in a relevant field of study.
- Available for a minimum of 6 months, preference for availability for a maximum of 11 months.
- Knowledge of employee benefits, leave management, timekeeping, or payroll concepts (a plus).
- Preferred Start Date: January 2026.
Additional Details:
- Hourly Rate: $20.00/hr for our internship program.
- MBV does not offer assisted living or a relocation package for this position.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant located in Ladson, South Carolina. This facility assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian markets under both the Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner brands. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.
MBV has invested over 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today, the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. Since 2006, over 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered across the U.S. MBV celebrated a 15-year legacy of SKD production in 2021.
