Job Description: Human Resources Internship

This 10-12 week internship program at Kirby Risk provides real-world experience in various aspects of Human Resources. The program is designed to kickstart your career, focusing on developing business acumen, customer development & engagement strategies, and professional relationships. Interns will work on 2-5 projects tailored to their skills and interests, gaining hands-on training and job shadowing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Gaining real-world experience in the day-to-day operations of Human Resources.
• Obtaining experience in Talent Acquisition.
• Developing business acumen through involvement in company projects and initiatives.
• Participating in networking events, including:
• Internship Kickoff with tours of Indianapolis locations.
• Lunch & Learns at Lafayette manufacturing locations.
• Lunch & Learn with Lafayette Corporate, Electrical Supply, and executive team members.
• A company Service Day.
• Final Presentations.

Location: Based in one of Kirby Risk’s branch locations. The position may require travel up to 25%.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• A demonstrated interest in pursuing a Human Resources-related role post-graduation.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
• Prior internship experience is preferred.
