Job Description: Human Resources Intern

Job Summary:
D.C. United is seeking an organized and enthusiastic undergraduate or graduate student who aspires to enter the human resources profession. This internship is for Summer 2025 and aims to provide the intern with foundational knowledge in human resources principles, specifically related to Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), recordkeeping compliance, and payroll.

Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship. Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and eligible to receive course credit for their participation in the internship.

Schedule and Location:
The internship requires an estimated 10 hours per week and will be located on-site at Audi Field. This is not a remote position. The ideal start date is September 9, 2025.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
The intern will gain practical experience by:
• Learning federal recordkeeping requirements for employee records.
• Receiving an introduction to ADP WorkforceNow, a Human Resources Information System.
• Learning foundational principles of confidentiality concerning employee information.
• Applying learned concepts by utilizing ADP WorkforceNow for recordkeeping tasks.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the HR department.

Requirements:
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Be earning course credit for participating in the internship.
• Possess educational goals that align with a career in human resources or business.
• Be eligible to receive course credit at an accredited college or university for the internship.
• Successfully pass a background check.

Strong organizational skills.
Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• The ability to learn new concepts under supervision and apply that learning independently to efficiently complete work.
