Human Resources Intern | National Organization for Rare Disorders
The Tone:
This is an internship at NORD, located remotely in the United States. NORD is the leading independent nonprofit organization representing all patients and families affected by rare diseases. This role will provide hands-on experience across the full range of human resources while specifically focusing on enhancing the organization’s internship program and supporting broader HR initiatives. The intern will contribute to improving the employee and intern experience within a mission-driven environment dedicated to improving the lives of people living with rare diseases.

• Type: Unpaid, flexible schedule (minimum 4 months)
• Location: Remote, United States
• Mission: Shape and enhance NORD’s internship program and contribute to various HR projects across the employee lifecycle.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Development: Help design and enhance NORD’s internship program and overall intern experience.
• Intern Onboarding: Coordinate intern onboarding activities and welcome new interns to the organization.
• Engagement & Feedback: Organize networking opportunities and connect regularly with interns to gather feedback and improve their experience.
• Resource Creation: Develop resources, guides, and programming that support intern success and engagement.
• HR Project Support: Contribute to a variety of HR initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and learning and development projects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field. Entry-Level career experience.
• Experience: Eligible to receive academic credit or participate through a university-sponsored internship program.
• Skills: Creativity and initiative, with an enthusiasm for developing employee engagement activities, wellness initiatives, training resources, and communication materials.
